Official, Hobbit-Hot-Off-The-Shire-Press, News Release :

The upcoming full length film documentary, "Ringers: Lord of the Fans" will be featuring a variety of material on/by the melodic-art-fantasy-rock band Hobbit. In what the producers call ". . .extensive use. . .", music by Hobbit will be heard 'here and there', and band pics. with vintage concert video footage from the 1st and 2nd 'Ages', will "open" the segment of the film titled "Rock and Roll and Rings". The film is "a feature-length documentary that reveals the ongoing cultural phenomenon created by The Lord of the Rings. Very funny and often moving, Ringers shows the hidden power behind Tolkien's books -- and how after 50 years a single literary work continues to spark the minds and hearts of millions, across cultures and across time. Ringers explores the real foundations of Middle-earth; a community of true fans who share a common bond. Moving beyond "cult classic" and over several different generations, the film unearths academics, musicians, authors, filmmakers, and a plethora of pop junkies -- the people gathered under the banner of 'Ringer.' From the hippie counter-culture to the electronic age; from the Bakshi animated film to Jackson's epic trilogy; this documentary brings together extensive footage from across the globe. With units in Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Bonn, Germany, Wellington, New Zealand, and Oxford, England, our cameras capture the most fascinating "Ringers" and Lord of the Rings events".

At present (editing/post production is in the final stages), the background music in the film opening is the song "Ramble On"/'Led Zepp.'. There will be a virtual cornucopia of interviews with a variety of folk, such as : 'The' LOTR Director/Producer Peter Jackson, actors such as 'Gandalf', 'Gollum', 'Merry' (narrated by "Dom"), 'Frodo','Pippin', 'Samwise', 'Aragorn', 'Gimli', David 'Kung Fu' Carradine, musicians Geddy Lee/Rush and Lemmy/Motorhead, authors such as Peter 'Last Unicorn' Beagle, Terry 'Shannara' Brooks, Clive 'Hellraiser' Barker, even J.R.R.T.'s Great Grandson Royd Tolkien, and many many other Middle Earth 'dwellers'. Find out all about the film at http://www.theonering.net/ringers where they have 'interviewees' shown now, and soon will be 'updated' with more pics., bio's., CD covers, various links, news, and much fun! The film will be premiering at the Slamdance Film Festival:

What "They" are saying about the 'New' CD :

"All For The One" (*): Two very enthusiastic thumbs up to Texas-based pomp-rockers "Hobbit" for this long-expected opus. The ULTIMATE Tolkien celebration album. One of my top-ten Tolkien albums of all time. - Chris Seeman of (Tolkien-Music)

"This 74 minute concept album experience redefines the term "masterpiece" by taking the listener through not just the letter but the spirit of the Lord Of The Rings, which has been the subject of concept albums before - but never like this ... Concept albums will forever be compared to this disc from now forward." - Lee Bradfield (free lance/Glory-Daze)

". . . their attention to detail or the phenomenal amount of work that's gone into making this CD such a complete tribute to something that has touched so many. What they've also managed to do is be faithful to the book (no missing Bombadil's here!), and instill a passion in the lyrics and their delivery. . ." - Andrew McNiece (Melodic Rock)

"All For The One" is one of those albums that you have to listen to carefully, and like the book-study, you will then find an album with so much characteristic charm and delight that you keep going back to the to hear the wonderful various songs as well as playing it right the way through over and over. . ." - Nicky Baldrian (AORDreamzones)

"It's still something that no true fan of "fantasy rock" can be without though and the word "concept", truly gets a bigger and different meaning here." - Urban "Wally" Walstrom (AOREurope)

"A must have release indeed! Brilliant!" - Paul "Creeper" Autry (The Spotlight)

"Check out this new HOBBIT CD asap if you're a fan. . ." - Gabor Kleinbloesem (Strutter'zine)

"WWWOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! IT'S FANTASTIC. Congratulations. I loved your music." - Sergio Vilar (Nucleus)

"This CD is an epic including 32 tracks of majestic music and narration." - Laura Lynch (Kweevak)

". . .as warm and friendly as it is technical and foreboding, with light and dark themes dancing with mystical and mainstream melodies." - Michael Popke (Sea Of Tranquility)

"If you'd like something different than the ordinary check out Hobbit, they will surprise you!" - Arne Asbolmo (Metal Hard Rock Today)
